The ear is healing. Over the last day I've had much less dizziness and nausea. My ear still sticks out like it belongs on the American or British man-who-would-be-king. The other ear is rather embarrassed by this whole thing and is cowering quite closely to my head.
The head cold has mostly passed. Thankfully I only coughed a little and didn't sneeze at all so I might still have an eardrum on the right side.
The subject line? Well, as of this afternoon I know what gout is. Apparently I have a full fledged case most likely caused by my body getting knocked out of kilter by the surgery. This is so uncool it cannot even be expressed.
In other news it was amazingly sunny again today. It had all the trappings of a wonderful spring day. I understand that had I been able to go outside the illusion would have been broken by the still subfreezing temps, but I couldn't tell.
