[livejournal.com profile] cyberquail left this morning. It was a short but very pleasant visit involving much good food. For those who would like the rundown )

It was a wonderful visit, too short but that is the nature of good visits.

Today I've done very little despite the fact I had the day off and was up early. All I've really accomplished is getting three loads of dishes washed and reading 150 pages of Carpe Jugulum.

I finished "Carpe Jugulum" this afternoon after reading most of it today. My eyeballs are pretty much falling out, not the fault of the book, but my own dumb nature.

It was a fun book, but it doesn't really stand out for me. I did like the portrayal of the witches and the way everyone was taking on Granny characteristics for various reasons. I also enjoyed seeing Magrat as protective and resourceful mother. Something about how many of the scenes were paced and played out didn't feel quite right, but I can't put my fingers on any specifics.

This is the last of the Pterry books for now. I think I've read all the ones we have here now. Next I might try the Dahn books that eightball has sent over the years.
